My first experience truck camping was way back in 1982, when I took a Dodge D-50 (Mitsubishi) on a six week road trip with a friend from high school. Again, this was more tent camping than truck camping. Back in the good old days when sleeping on the cold, uneven ground was still acceptible. Back in Toledo, the D-50 was rear ended twice in a six month period. After fixing it the first time, I took the insurance check the second time and traded it away for a 1979 Toyota Corolla I called Gandalf (the Gray). In 1984 I moved to Boulder in this little car, and later traded it in for Bart. |
