Day 4 on the Milford Track
Mud Slide
However, the trail was a gentle slope down and just as rocky in most places. Knowing the end would come about noon and boat would pick us up at 2:00 pm was a constant magnet.

We came to the washout and found that even with the current rain, it was passable though sloppy. If only it had rained a little harder......

The photo on the right doesn't do sufficient justice to how wet we were, how drenched everything around us was. We knew this is the second wettest place on earth (after the island of Kauai) and it took hiking this day to remind us why everything is so green and why there are so many waterfalls!
