Day 2 on the Milford Track
Clinton Valley from the Pass
When Alan and I reached to Pass that afternoon, we were naturally drawn to the Memorial and to the dramatic ridge that climbs to the top of Mt Balloon.

But when we walked on down the track past the Memorial and turned in the direction from which we had just climbed, we were stunned by the sweep of the glaciated Clinton River valley we'd been following the past two days. We could see the Mintaro Hut where we began our ascent.

We would not see the likes of this picture the following day.
