RATTLESNAKE
CANYON
In spite of
Judy’s phobia regarding all snakes, we began our tour
there. This tour required some climbing and squeezing in and around the
corkscrew-like canyon. While it was not as high or as dark as Upper
Antelope, we were able to examine the formations formed by water flow
through the Navajo sandstone in greater detail than we would later in
the morning.
Another advantage was that
we were, at that time of
day,
the only people in the canyon. And we did not see a single snake to
Judy’s relief, although it’s likely there are some to be seen from time
to time.
