These two marmots were a couple of the many I saw hanging around by the side of the road.

A few miles from the summit, I passed the historic mining ghost town
of Independence. It looked very well preserved, and is probably worth a visit.
The road follows the Roaring Fork River down to Aspen. These two marmots were a couple of the many I saw hanging around by the side of the road. |
