The Banff Springs Hotel The original hotel was constructed by the Canadian Pacific Railway company in 1888 to attract tourists to the area and thus increase it’s own business. Most of the building seen today was built in 1928. The newer Rimrock Hotel can be seen beyond the “Castle” on the slopes of Sulpher Mountain.
