The Yampa Bench road follows the river for over 40 miles from the Echo Park road to US 40. The road is graded dirt and a bit bumpy in spots, but would be passable (when dry) by most vehicles excepting RVs. It meanders around side canyons and thru washes as it brings you to spectacular overlooks as much as 1,000 feet above the twisted canyon below.
