This is the Boulder House from another angle. Closely associated with the builders of Mesa Verde (about 30 miles away), the inhabitants of the area during this period no longer relied as much on hunting and gathering wild foods. Dry farming – corn, beans, and squash – had became the mainstay of their livelihoods, and allowed for larger, cooperative communities.
