Aztec Ruins National Monument

The pueblo consisted of 450 rooms, some of which were three stories tall. They surrounded a central plaza with a great kiva 48 feet in diameter (on the right). This great kiva is unusual in that fifteen additional rooms encircle it. The great kiva was reconstructed in 1934, and visitors are lead through it on the interpretative trail.
