PICTOGRAPHS
Hughes on a Sand Dune
We set out one afternoon to the site of pictographs east of Kanab along Indian Canyon. This was a few days after a heavy rain swept through the area and we were a bit cautious about the sandy road we needed to take. We finally stopped in a shaded area and headed out on foot without success in locating the pictographs. We were probably closer to the area of Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park, but we’re not able to confirm that: there were more dirt roads/tracks than we could locate on our pretty good map. By the time we reached a vantage point to figure out where we might be, the heat got to us and we decided to go back to the shade at the Crazy Horse RV Park.
