Kodachrome Basin State Park
Kodachrome Basin State Park Chimney Rock is huge, and maintains a lonely vigil over the surrounding open range.

Geologists have more than one theory as to how the monoliths were formed. Perhaps they are the result of ancient geysers filled with sediment, or maybe pressure from below pushed the sediments up through overlaying deposits. Whichever idea you may subscribe to, the weaker surrounding layer has been eroded away, exposing the giants to the wonder of all.
