Goosenecks of the San Juan River State Park
	The river was once slow moving on a near level plain, and meandered lazily along. Then, millions of years ago, the Colorado Plateau began to rise. The river very quickly cut into the layers of underlying rock, and it has been entrenched in this course ever since.
