Grand Staircase - Escalante National Monument
	Lower Calf Creek Falls are 126 feet tall, and flow year round, which is unusual in the high desert of Utah. The creek drains hundreds of square miles of sandstone, which is why it is always running. On my way back, I was caught in a torrential thunderstorm that lasted about an hour. Suddenly, there were waterfalls over every canyon wall, and it washed out the trail as I skirted the side canyons. It added some great excitement to my hike, and it took days for my boots to dry out.
