High above Sulphur Creek, I visited Sunset Point at the recommended time, and were
not disappointed.
I am high above Fruita, near the western boundary of the park, looking back at the
Waterpocket Fold. Here, the Colorado Plateau buckled into this long, but relatively
narrow, fold. Waterpockets are basins that are formed in sandstones by water
erosion. These pockets are common in the area, and hence the name.
