Hovenweep National Monument
Hovenweep National Monument
Similar to most of the Hovenweep sites, the Horseshoe and Hackberry groups are buildings clustered around a spring at the head of a canyon.
This is the Horseshoe Tower, and from its location is a great vantage overlooking the length of the canyon.

Spring is the perfect time to visit this area of otherwise harsh climate. Here is a pricklypear cactus in bloom.
