Capturing the headwaters of the Colorado River, the ANRA includes the “Great Lakes of
Colorado,” which were created to supply western slope water for Front Range farming.
The ANRA is generally located between Rocky Mountain National Park and the town of Granby.
Arapaho Bay is located at the east end of Lake Granby, about ten miles of gravel road
from the highway. It’s a bit off the beaten path, but is that much closer to the
backcountry. This view of the lake is from the Knight Ridge trail.
